through these distances

i can taste the mist

that fills the oceans of your eyes.

Outside,

i dwindle in translucent curtains

of cloud

and find a silhouette

sitting by a window.

through the distances

our eyes touch

commanding the zephyr

to envelope us

in united rapture/

at a dry summery hour

a monsoon takes birth

you and i are soaked drunk.

the intoxication

is too threadbare to spell.

then we begin to dance hungrily

stealing from a palette

smudged with

a lot of blue and blues

and a remarkable streak of green.
