i must have thought of you last summer

summer evening is for You

it makes me yearn

for that treasured home-coming

summer evening is compelling

it makes me let go and walk faster towards solace

it makes me forget chores and play ignoramus to missed calls

and inquisitive neighbours

it makes me abandon the city's psychedelia - the noise, the traffic signals, the signs, the works

it makes me surrender my body to a shower that feels heavenly

while it rains outside in jugalbandi

it makes me sway towards the fall of night

while my heart resists from losing itself to a memory

summer evening is like the perfume of an estranged lover

it is me

entangled tween the knots and puzzles of my own existence;

trying to defy and deny the heady hypnotism of yours

it reminds me of us
